There are a few reasons your Proflo® toilet may be clogging frequently. Make sure you are using toilet paper designed for septic systems and avoid flushing anything besides waste and toilet paper. Clogs can also occur from a buildup of mineral deposits, so try using a pumice stone or toilet cleaning bombs periodically to scrub the bowl and prevent deposits. Replacing the flapper valve can help too, since worn out valves allow water to flow into the bowl slowly, not with enough force to flush properly.
The water level in your Proflo® toilet tank can be adjusted by turning the float cup screw clockwise to lower the water level or counterclockwise to raise it. Make small turns and flush between adjustments to get the ideal water level about 1/2 inch below the overflow tube opening. Take care not to overfill the tank.
We recommend using a mild dish soap and soft cloth to clean your Proflo® kitchen faucet. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads which can scratch the finish. For hard water spots, use a 50/50 vinegar and water solution and rinse thoroughly. You can also rub the faucet gently with a Magic Eraser. Be sure to frequently wipe down the faucet and dry completely to prevent water spots.
For optimal performance, you should replace the filter on your Proflo® sump pump every 3-4 months. More frequent filter changes may be needed if you have particularly dirty water. Check the filter monthly and replace when it appears clogged with sediment. Using a higher micron filter can also allow you to change it less frequently.
Correct installation is key to ensuring your Proflo® toilet functions properly. First, shut off the water supply and flush to empty the tank. Remove the old toilet. Install the wax ring evenly around the drain flange. Lower the new toilet in place and alternate tightening the bolts until snug. Connect the water supply, turn on the valve, and test for leaks. Let the tank fill and test flushing a few times.
A slow draining Proflo® tub is likely caused by built up hair and soap scum in the drain. Try using a drain snake or zip-it tool to pull out debris. You can also mix 1/2 cup baking soda with 1 cup vinegar, pour down the drain, and let sit 15 minutes before rinsing with hot water. If that doesn't work, the drain assembly may need to be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly.
Proflo® offers a wide selection of unique finishes to suit any style. Popular options include polished chrome, brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, matte black, and stainless steel. Specialty finishes like brushed gold, rose gold, brushed copper, and more are also available. Visit a Ferguson showroom to view finish samples in person.
To activate the touch control on your Proflo® faucet, hold your hand about 3 inches away from the faucet spout for 5 seconds until the LED light turns on. This enables motion sensing. Wave your hand near the spout to turn water on and off. The faucet will automatically turn off after 1 minute without motion.
You can expect the batteries in your Proflo® touchless faucet to last 3-5 years with normal residential use before needing replacement. Signs your batteries are getting low include the faucet no longer responding to motion or the LED flashing. Refer to the owner's manual for instructions on accessing the batteries.
